Frequently Asked Questions About Simple Path Recovery
Educational resources, industry updates, and expert advice to guide you or your loved ones on the road to lasting change.
Admissions FAQs
The first call is usually the hardest part, so here is what to expect when you reach out to Simple Path.
How does the admissions process work at Simple Path Recovery?
The process starts with a confidential phone call. Our admissions team will listen to your situation, ask a few questions about your history with substances and any past treatment, and recommend a level of care that fits. From there, we verify your insurance, schedule your intake, and get you started, often within a few days of that first conversation.
What information do I need to provide when I call?
Have your insurance card handy if you can find it, and be ready to share basic information about what is going on, what substances are involved, and any treatment you have done before. You do not need a diagnosis, medical records, or a perfectly told story. We will help you piece things together. Call when you are ready and we will go from there.
How long does it take to get into a program?
Most clients begin treatment within a few days of their first phone call, and same-week admissions are common when there is room in the program you need. If your situation is urgent, tell us during the call and we will move as fast as we can. Insurance verification typically takes a few hours, not days, so it rarely slows things down.
Treatment FAQs
Here is what to expect once you are in one of our programs, day to day and over time.
What does a typical day or week look like in treatment?
It depends on the level of care. Partial Hospitalization clients attend five days a week, with group therapy, individual counseling, and 12 step meetings filling most of the day. Intensive Outpatient runs three to five days a week with shorter sessions, often in the evening so you can keep working. Continuing Care is a lighter weekly check-in to protect your progress.
Will I work with the same counselor throughout my program?
Yes. You are matched with a primary counselor at intake who stays with you through your time in our care. That continuity matters because real progress comes from someone who actually knows your story, not from repeating it to a new person every few weeks. You also have a case manager and access to other team members as needed.
What happens if I need a different level of care during treatment?
We adjust as you progress. Many clients begin in our Partial Hospitalization Program, step down to Intensive Outpatient as their stability grows, and transition into Continuing Care from there. If something in your life changes and you need more support again, we can step you back up. The path is not linear for most people, and our programs are built for that.
What To Bring To Rehab
These are the practical packing questions clients ask most often before their first day.
What should I bring with me to my first day of treatment?
Bring your ID, your insurance card, a list of any current medications with dosages, and any prescriptions you take. A water bottle and a light snack are useful for longer days like PHP. Wear comfortable clothes, since you will be in sessions for several hours. Phones are allowed but used minimally during sessions, so plan to be present.
Are there things I shouldn't bring to treatment?
No drugs, alcohol, weapons, or anything used to consume substances. Leave valuables and large amounts of cash at home, since secure storage is not guaranteed during sessions. Avoid wearing clothing with substance-related imagery or slogans out of respect for other clients. If you are unsure about an item, ask your admissions contact ahead of time and we will let you know.
If I'm staying in sober living, what should I pack?
Pack like you are moving into a furnished apartment for a few months. Clothing for Florida weather, toiletries, comfortable shoes, a phone charger, a small amount of personal items that remind you of home, and any approved medications in their original containers. Each sober living residence has its own list, and your case manager will share the specific guidelines for the home you are matched with.
